In the inner reaches of the Chambers of Protection, in the Valleys of Tavorr, a small enclave of withered counselors gathered to discuss the matter set before them by a breathless messenger from the outposts bordering the Lands of Fear to the East of Tavorr on the far side of the Great Mountains, a range spanning as far North and South as any maps ventured to mark, cutting off the world of the Free from that of the Tortured. The present problem was that the fortress of Delaris had been besieged by a mass horde of the Deathkindred (the collective name for the evil and twisted races that lived on the other side of the mountains) and had in the course of the battle allowed some groups of the enemy to bypass the fortress. The elders quickly came to an emergency decision: Delaris and the four other fortresses blocking off the pathways in the mountains must be reinforced. A messenger left immediately to deliver the summons to war.
But still there stood another issue: how to eradicate Deathkindred that had slipped through? After many hours of deliberation, the counselors decided to gather a small strike force comprised of volunteers to rove the lands nearby Delaris and combat the forces in that area.

Red is going to be our Out of Character Color, used for questions, comments, or explanations such as this one. Just to break things apart when you're writing, please put dialog that requires response from another player in blue, and when combat comes around, actions in green. I'm going to post an example after this to get you guys started on what we're doing.

This is an example post.

When the messenger arrived off the skimmer from across the water to Korallthia, Larka Krallis was out hunting. When she returned and saw the crowd of her kin gathered in the center of the village, she made her way to her friend Zenna and nudged her. "What is this crowd here for," she questioned. Zenna, a short and thin Korallthian turned to Larka and explained. "A messenger has come from Tavorr," she said. "He tells us that volunteers are needed to destroy Deathkindred in the eastlands!"
Stunned, Larka stared at her friend. This was the moment she and her brother had been waiting for all her life: a chance to leave the island and explore the world. Their respect for their parents' wishes, even though they both had come of age, had kept them at home. But now, with the excuse of helping the kingdom, certainly their parents would understand! She sprinted to their home, a treehouse lodged in the massive branches of a sprawling Minosa tree. She bounded up the trunk, sinking her nails into the bark and fairly throwing herself up into the branches. "Kell!" She bubbled at her sleeping younger brother. "Kell, I've found us a way to the mainland!"
Her brother Kell, a lithe one of their race, sprawled over a tree branch and waved a paw at her. "Have you?" He yawned. Larka hopped toward him and batted at his head. When he finally rolled over and cracked an eye at her, she explained. Soon, they were on the way to the village center with their parents (somewhat hesitant) permission to leave.
After disembarking the boat to the mainland, they began the journey to the Inner City in the Valleys of Tavorr. Each was happy to be away from the land of their ancestors and they drank in the sights as they padded swiftly along, running the miles away easily and without losing breath.

More examples, cause I'm bored.

The gates to the Tavorrian city were already open as Larka and Kell glided down into the valley. Upon entering they saw numerous platoons gearing up to march out to war. Dumbstruck in amazement at the soaring architecture and the gleaming armor glistening in the sun, the young cat-like humanoids stopped in their tracks to stare. After a few moments, Kell snapped out of the trance and began to move deeper into the city. After a moment, he felt his sister's presence following at his right hand, just behind him, the formation that Korallthians adopted when moving together (which they seldom did), mirroring the wild dogs that inhabited their homeland: the alpha in front, with his greatest follower at his right shoulder.

Many glances were thrown their way, suspicious, curious, relieved. Kell ignored them all and made a beeline to the largest building in the area. Upon entrance he found much activity. Guards stood in strategic places while others milled about them on various tasks. Kell scanned the area as if it were a stretch of jungle, searching for prey (or a certain human in this case). Seeing none he deemed targets, he habitually glanced toward the wall and up to the rafters, mentally drawing a path up into them. A running start up to that chink in the stone, then kick off the wall to that swinging chandel-- wait... No, climbing is probably not acceptable here. Quenching his animalistic tendencies and instincts, Kell forced himself to look back down at the milling group. Finally he spotted a man decorated with a sword in a golden scabbard and picked him out. He went over and stood straight.
"Sir, my name is Kell Krallis, and this is my sister Larka. We have travelled from Korallthia in the hopes of joining hunter parties. We have no experience in war except for hunting in our own lands, but we have much skill in tracking."

Hours later, Kell was again bounding over the land eastward, alone this time. For a while, he and Larka had traveled together, but all too soon his sister had been forced to cut southward to meet the party of Naa'Jurrid predators she had been assigned to aid in tracking Deathkindred. He had been told to meet a group of Matorian crusaders some leagues to the East. They had parted with no words, but simply a farewell embrace and kiss on the cheek.

The miles fell away under his feet until he reached the obelisk at a crossroads he had been told to wait at.
